ALBUM NO. 2 UPDATE
Our label, London/Slash Records, is merging with Sire Records. As a result, it looks our second album won't be released until early next year. No firm date has been set. We are taking advantage of the time in the interim to do a bit more writing and recording. No plans for touring yet.

TRACKING ON NEW ALBUM COMPLETE
We've finished tracking the new album (tracking is the process of actually recording instruments, noises, etc.). We're now pretty much set to mix the album in Los Angeles beginning May 17. No word from the label as far as a release date, but rumor has it sometime in August or early September. I think we're all pretty happy with it. It's definitely a step up in maturity, and sounds a lot better than the last album.

MTV 120 MINUTES APPEARANCE THIS SUNDAY, 4/4
We will be on MTV's "120 Minutes" this Sunday. We answer a few questions, sit on a few boxes. Check your local listings for times. NEW ALBUM UPDATE We are currently in the middle of overdubs and are nearing completion of the tracking (recording) phase of the new album. Basic tracks were recorded at Bearsville Sound Studios in Woodstock, NY in early March. We are finishing overdubs in Seattle, and will probably head to Los Angeles to mix the album in early May. Everything is on schedule. Will report more soon.

"SAVE IT FOR LATER" VIDEO SHOOT COMPLETED
We've just gotten back from New York, where we shot the video for "Save It For Later." It's being directed by Evan Bernard, who's shot videos for the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion and others. It should be out in the coming weeks. Look for it on MTV. The song is also getting added to modern-rock radio stations across the country, so keep a lookout for it....

NEW ALBUM UPDATE
We finished demos of most of the tracks for the next album. We are planning to record at Bearsville studios in Woodstock, NY beginning in March.

NEW (OLD) SONG ON "200 CIGARETTES" SOUNDTRACK
We recorded a version of The English Beat song "Save It For Later" for the movie "200 Cigarettes" (which stars Courtney Love, Christina Ricci, and Ben Affleck, among others) due in theaters in February. As of right now, the song will be on the soundtrack album, and will at least be played during the closing credits. There's also going to be one of those movie videos made, where scenes from the movie are intercut into the video. Since it's an MTV movie, you'll probably get a chance to see it in the coming month. The song might even be promoted to radio, so listen for it! (And yes, it is true that at one point Mike McCready came in and put down a guitar solo on it, but we used a different version in the end).
