FREE ACOUSTIC ALL-AGES SHOW
Well, we finally nailed down a date and place for our free acoustic show: Tuesday, Dec. 30 at the Speakeasy Cafe in Belltown (2304 2nd Avenue). We will be the only band playing, and the show will begin around 8:30 p.m. Come and bring your friends!

A CALL FOR SYMPATHY
Sean fractured both his arms playing basketball recently, so he will be sporting a stylish pair of white-and-blue fiberglass armwear for the next 3-5 weeks. You can see them in person at our upcoming show at the Crocodile (11/19), which will feature a suprise celebrity journalist as guest organist. Send flowers, cards, love letters to: Sean Nelson c/o Harvey Danger: 4739 University Way NE, #1254, Seattle, WA 98105 . He will be very happy. (and if you're curious, he fractured the radius bones of both his forearms -- remember that you have two bones in your forearm, the radius and the ulna. The radius is the bone on the thumb side of your forearm. Can you locate your ulna? Good! I knew you could.)

HERE'S WHERE THE STRINGS COME IN
We went in to John & Stu's place on Saturday (10/4) and cut demos with John of two new songs ("Sad Sweetheart of the Rodeo" and "Defrocked"). They turned out pretty good, IMHO. We have no concrete plans on what we're going to do with them, though ideas for either a single or an EP (when we record more new material) have been tossed around.

SOUNDTRACK TO MARY
We'll have an unreleased track, our first version of "Carjack Fever" on the FUEL compilation on the Arena Rock Recording Co. This should be out at the end of Rocktober.

....YOU'RE GONNA SLAP YOUR MOMMA
Well, we got back last week from the CMJ New music seminar in NYC, NY, and it was kinda fun, I guess. The show went well, all things considered: we didn't break anything, though we really tried. I'll put up some photos taken by Aaron (with a disposable camera) during the set sometime later for those who would be interested.

GOOD PRESS IS GOOD PRESS
We've been getting a some good reviews lately. If you see any press about the band, could you let us know? We're scrounging around for our press kit. We'll send you a pickle (or gherkin, whichever you prefer).

AND DID WE MENTION...
Well, our debut CD is out (but you knew about that already). Now we're trying to see if we can actually find it in stores. So far, we've seen it at: Borders Books and Music in downtown Seattle, Orpheum on Broadway, and Cellophane Square in the University District. It's being distributed by N.A.I.L, Cargo, Caroline, Parasol, Surefire and GoodAsAny. Hopefully some of them will start turning up.

RADIO, RADIO
We've been getting really good support at college radio stations across the country. We jumped to #118 in the CMJ top 200 and couple weeks ago. Haven't seen the charts since...

MORE COMPILATIONS
We're going to contribute a track on a soundtrack put out on the Arena Rock Recording Co. Other bands on the soundtrack (so far) include Versus and maybe Codeine, among other bands. It's not really a soundtrack per se as much as an "accompanying album" to some traveling independent film festival that's coming up. Kind of a Lollapalooza, if you will, but for independent films. At least that's what they said...

COMPILATIONS
Let's see...oh, we're also on a couple of compilations that have just come out on some area labels. The original demo mix of "Flagpole Sitta" appears on "The New Seattle Music Scene" (Insight Records) alongside tracks from Super Deluxe, Huge Space Bird, Tube Top, and a host of others, while the original demo mix of "Wrecking Ball" appears on "Genrefest" (Ivy Records) alongside tracks from Faith and Disease and other such bands. We submitted our songs to the compilations back last October/November, before we'd decided to record the album, but they're just coming out now. Basically the songs on the compilations are the same versions on the album, except they're mastered differently (and in Flagpole's case, mixed differently) on the album.
