That's just great...now I have Mountain Dew all over my monitor here at work!

Seriously, though...that is probably the best quote...ever. Period.

I'm calling Mattel to get the all rolling.

Sorry 'bout the hijack...and now...back to your regularly scheduled topic...

The following is addressed to the fine folks of Harvey Danger:

I stumbled across news of your free download offering of Little by Little . . . somewhere (yes, long after it first became available) and thought "Harvey Danger -- that name sounds familiar. Where have I heard that before?"

It wasn't until after I had gotten the album download via BitTorrent, listened to it, and decided that I really liked it, that I realized I knew the name from the radio popularity of Flagpole Sitta. Considering my off-again/off-again relationship with the radio, I'm surprised I even managed to make that connection.

In any case, I was elated to discover that not only was it being offered for free with an encouragement to donate and/or purchase physical media, but was being offered in patent-unencumbered formats. I'll be either donating or buying the physical media as soon as the budget allows (getting wisdom teeth yanked and some recent activism expenses have taken a chunk out of finances). If you offer more of your albums the same way (or, even better, in FLAC format via BitTorrent), I'll download and (assuming I like 'em) buy them as well, and tell all my friends as well.

Thanks for taking this step toward building a positive relationship with both present and future fans. If you hadn't, I probably would have continued to have only the vaguest notion of who those Harvey Danger people are.

It shouldn't be the case, but it seems like people really need courage (and encouragement) to do what you've done. I'll always support any such efforts to use good, 21st-century marketing techniques like this over the "traditional", protection-racket tactics of the RIAA -- assuming I like the music, of course. Even if I dislike the music, though, I'll be more than willing to heap praise on those who pursue a business model that uses unencumbered licensing and formats to distribute their creations.

Keep up the good work.

Is it bad when I get excited that even a spambot posted?

We can talk about it later
But there's no later
Is there?

Hey, Australians need to invest in education somewhere.

CAUTION: Over the weekend, a short psychic escaped from police custody.
He is to be considered a small medium at large.

Sorry about the SPAM, it has now been deleted. I don't visit the boards as often as I used to.

Pray to the God that you don't quite believe in
To bless this fleeting moment
Yeah, YEAH, YEAH!
