Obsessed with CMT
Sorry I have been away. Chances are I was watching Country Music Television. Ever since the election, I have been unable to focus on anything else. This is what the morons of America consider legitimate entertainment and it's literally like a parody of itself. It makes the worst of MTV look like Masterpiece goddamn Theater. I believe my feelings can be best expressed by the following lyrics:

Trace Adkins “Rough & Ready”

Mudgrips - white-tip
Cigar stickin' out of my face
Earnhardt racing sticker on the window
Banged up fender
4x4 - straight pipe roar
Primer and rust all over the door
Scarred up knuckles, Mack belt buckle
White t-shirt - Ain't afraid to work
Got a "what-are-you-looking-at-asshole" smirk

CHORUS:
Cold beer, hot wings
Wranglers, Skoal ring
Get just what you see
Gun rack, ball cap
Don't take no crap
Ain't a pretty boy-toy
I'll rock you steady
Rough and ready

Work boots - one blue suit
Size too small - don't wear at all
Unless somebody kicks - gets hitched
That's a bitch - makes me itch
Up with sun - off on the run
Makin' money money - cause I wanna have fun
5 o'clock whistle - off like a missle
Got a hot date, girl named Kate
Think's I'm cool - 'cause I shoot straight
Ain't one thing about her fake
She's long and tall - and she goes great with

CHORUS

Well you are who you are
And that's all right with me
Well I am who I am
And that's all I can be

CHORUS, again

Rough and ready
Yeah...me and my buddies are all alike

and I hope you all fucking rot.

Ahahahaha. Yeah. That's pretty stupid. This sentence is particularly good, because I think he means the opposite of what he is saying. "But I guess you know their business..."

At the root of it, everyone honors what they feel as genuine. And this guy seems to think ignorance and a machismo attitude is genuine. And probably most of america with him... *sigh*

Ah, yes! This is one of the top reasons Sean's cooler than anyone else in the world.

One of my least favorite shows was Hee Haw. I never got the jokes as a kid, and unfortunately, it was one of the only things i could watch and my Dad's father's place. And unfortuately one of the 3 memories I have of there (grandpa D died about 14 years ago and the old farmhouse was knocked down earlier this year). CMT always struck me as a heavy handed MTV, with everything MTV did, they would do but country-fied. LCD but modern and shiny. Like Walmart, but for music televison.

Visit me or don't.

look at me, I'm digging up a post from a bygone era!

so yeah, CMT. Hahhhh.
It's hard to believe that that guy was serious with his lyrics, I had to go and look him up just to verify that he was a legit country singer and not some comedian doing a parody.
go U.S.A.

Waffle Houses across Texas will rue the day they put Trace Adkins' Honky Tonk Badonkadonk on their jukeboxes. I keep quarters in my car for no other reason.

CAUTION: Over the weekend, a short psychic escaped from police custody.
He is to be considered a small medium at large.
