RE: Comic Books & Related Movies
BTAS actually did their own version of "Dark Knight Returns"...
I forgot the episode name, but it was a bunch of kids telling their version of who Batman was to them...
It paid tribute to the old Filmation Batman, as well as DKR...

You felt the DKR dvd(s) were like books on tape, with animation?

RE: Comic Books & Related Movies
so i actually saw Man of Steel today. lots of good things about it, lots of bad things. snyder really is a shitty director. bad pacing, absolutely no sense of personal relationships or tension or emotion, but the action sequences looked really cool. and the television static thing of zod's announcement was fucking GREAT. problems, though -- lack of actual superman scenes, the relationship between lois and superman made no sense (i think they said 4 sentences to each other and then were in love), the jesus symbolism that showed up for all of 5 minutes and was really ham-fisted, horrible horrible dialogue. but i'll give them credit for making a superman movie that was considerably different than any other superman story i've seen

Isn't that all movie relationship, EVER?

Surprisingly, Flagpole Sitta was NOT my first Harvey Danger Song.

RE: Comic Books & Related Movies
not necessarily! i mean, this was REALLY bad. they barely interact with each other, but the movie treats it as if we already know they're supposed to be a couple. it's just not believable, and i think most of that has to do with snyder's complete inability to direct emotionally affecting scenes. or maybe those just got cut for more explosions

Over the weekend, I'm watching "DK Rises", and "Empire of the Sun" was on later in the day...

A tip of the hat by Christian Bale to Steven Spielberg???

Man of Steel:

My Son- I thought Superman doesn't kill.

Me- Well, he doesn't....Anymore...

I liked the little changes that were made to an origin that was only one page of the first comic...

The Fortress of Solitude was an abandoned Kryptonian spaceship...Nice

The Codex??? No thanks...

The Reeves tribute stuff...Happy it wasn't cheesy...

Still trying to figure out what a "dicksplash" is, though...
