Has anyone heard ANYTHING from Deep Grits lately?
I've been trying to piece together a partial discography on the group, and I haven't really been able to find anything more recent than a few years ago. They're not a really well known group from what I can tell, so it's hard to find any information on them. Anyone else know what the heck the group might be up to as of late?

If that's your statement, your voice is too loud

DG have been working on a greatest hits album since fans have been demanding it. I think it's out now.

Let's hope for another tour soon!

Last I heard, they were rounding up every copy of their recordings in an attempt to wipe the memory of their existence off the face of the earth in a cleansing fire. At least, that's the official statement, but a small faction (myself included) believe that they're actually planning to store all the copies in a vault to protect their music from the apocalypse.

CAUTION: Over the weekend, a short psychic escaped from police custody.
He is to be considered a small medium at large.

Björn and Bjôrn were in therapy, and Bjørn was in rehab, but they just issued a single in support of a best-of collection and played a record-release concert. I believe this to be a complete discography:

Holy jeez.

I apparently missed out on a lot of the singles. I'm going to have to get caught up. Do you know if they're doing a full tour to promote the best-of collection, or was it just a one-time gig?

I think it's officially unreleased, but there's definitely a studio-recorded cover of "Crooked Little Vein" by MG and His Flapjack Troubadours floating around. If you haven't heard it: it is, um, considerably noisier than the Troubadours' original version.

The thing that's coming up that I'm excited/horrified about is this acoustic ballad-y version of "Keep Yr Terrible Love to Yrself." It's going to be the lead single off the soundtrack to the new Twilight movie, and they're using it in all the commercial advertising for it too. As I said: excited/horrified. It's a LOT of money for Deep Grits, but still, y'know.

Those looking for a recap of the best-attended-by-forum-members Deep Grits show should start here. The name "Deep Grits," of course, comes from the lyrics to a beloved Harvey Danger song.

(No but really, if you do a forum search for "Grits" and then "Grammer" you'll probably have a pretty full history on the board's deep and loyal love for the madness and greatness of Deep Grits.)

I actually read about this in a few other spots the night I made the original post for this thread, and it was really frustrating to read some of the hipster die-hards screaming about selling out. I'm not happy about them being linked to Twilight, but that's mainly because I hate Twilight. I don't think it's wrong to be glad that your favorite bands are finding success.

I'm still waiting for the official release of Baby (Uncensored). The radio edit is all well and good but I've heard stories about the part where the baby unleashes a string of cusses that turn the song from adorable to offensive and back again.
