Jabberwocky's

Jackie is a punk, Judy is a runt
A common line
Raw deal institution
Sometimes I feel like I don't have a partner
You declared you would be three inches taller

Nobody knows where you are, how near or how far
Hey, I've got a commentary without much to say
Sun child
Well, Annie's pretty neat
We ain't seen land for 13 months

Whenever skies look gray to me and trouble begins to brew
Since day one you've been away
When the truth is found
I will don't leave
Everybody wants to be the DJ

Got no card, so I got no soul
is this the in place to be?
I think that someone is trying to kill me
You have bound my heart with subtle chains
I suppose that there's no way

If that's your statement, your voice is too loud

"I Packed My Clothes and Wrapped My Single Issues"

It's the common reactor
I've got time to think about lovin' you
Mean town, ain't you one friendly face
Shake it up, baby
I know you could (I wish you would)

You ask me, baby, how I been
There's a Harlem band way down in San Domingo
People keep on learning
I wanna make you happy
Well I been lokum and sober for a long time

Strange brew, killing what's inside you
The greatest love
Near Millstadt and moving northeast at 20 MPH
Typical teen, Corpus Christi
Hallucinations, hallucinations, hallucinations

Who knew it first
There's anxious color waiting patiently
I need love, love
Well, I can hear you talk behind my back
Well, I was layin' alone when the moon was high

RE: Stolen First Line Poetry
I still enjoy this over four years later:

"Last Night My Eyes Were Burning"

Oh mio
N is the first
With you I stand
When I'm with you I feel so small
Who steps out of his pad 'bout 3 A.M.

Who was that creature loving you
You sit on my face
Taking the long way home again
We always met in Richmond
Scream and holler, baby

You don't even know my name
If our ship went down
Hot summer night and you need to get out
Hey little girl how you doing tonight
I will not go

Perch your lover on a stone burner
Will you turn my mind away from
Michael Jackson has a dream, late at night
When you say it's dead and gone
There's a new sound*

That last line ought to be the sound, but transcription ranges from "Breen Brackin Breen Brackin Breen Brackin" to "grx nk grx nk grx nk brn brn brn rm rm."

RE: Stolen First Line Poetry
She was underwhelmed (if that's a word)

She's 39, but she still looks young.
(Well, a rich gal will drink good pineapple juice.)
She goes for her medical.
(Welcome to nowhere, fast.
There she goes.)

Hey! You've shed your reputation.
Hey! What are you in for?

2032: Housewives shock in blue.
Sister bluebird, flying high above.

Meet me up on 99,
still scowling black
(golden blunders come in pairs).

I'm gonna get under your skin sooner or later.
The empty page before me now, the pen is in my hand.

Ice - it forms in sheets from your eyes.
(In my heart I have a feeling. Don't know what I'm gonna do.)
Touch the water. Watch you fall over.
Big man. Pig man.

Everybody in the world keeps talking;
you take away the breath I was keeping for sunrise.

I saw them in 1989. Foxboro stadium (where the Patriots played). 14th row. The second rock concert I ever attended, and the last one where I didn't wear earplugs.

I particularly like that and am surprised neither is from "Jesus Christ! Did You See the SIZE of That Sperm Whale?"

We can talk about it later
But there's no later
Is there?

There were a few interesting juxtapositions. The two "Hey!" lines one after the other; the "blue" and "bluebird" lines together; "she goes"/"welcome to nowhere"/"there she goes."

I've got tons of Beatles material on my iPod, so I was a little surprised that none of their songs popped up. But, considering the venue, I was glad that a Harvey Danger song appeared. (And I wasn't even the first to get "What You Live By"!)

You know the pre-Harvey Danger version, right?

Can't say as I do. I know that a number of HD songs went through metamorphosis - "Carjack Fever" sped up, "Diminishing Returns" slowed down, a few lines from outtakes broke off and wound up in entirely different songs - but I'm not familiar with the band's prehistory. The demo tape is as far back as I've gone.

What (since this is surely what you were getting at) was different about the early "What You Live By"?

It's by Sean Nelson and His Mortal Enemies and whispery, for want of a better word.

We can talk about it later
But there's no later
Is there?

Lucky you, I only was able to see them after Entwistle died. I also have realized that I need to acquire more music, because I don't think my catalog has changed much at all in 5 years...

CAUTION: Over the weekend, a short psychic escaped from police custody.
He is to be considered a small medium at large.
