I've never been the least bit able to get into Death Cab. What I'm learning is that I enjoy things that Chris Walla produces, and don't really get into his front-of-the-mic stuff. I don't plan on buying this.

That said, I picked up Field Manual several days ago and haven't listened to it yet, but it's officially Chris Walla's last chance to make me like him.

Also: Right now, I'm looking at the track listing for Narrow Stairs, and the second-to-last song is called "Pity and Fear." I know you'd have told us if it was a cover, right?

I will be able to talk about Narrow Stairs after I hear it tomorrow. "I Will Possess your Heart" has an unfortunate title, but is a wonderful, wonderful song.

I'd consider Walla more behind-the-mic than front-of in Death Cab. It's not like he sings or writes the songs or anything. As far as actual front-of-the-mic stuff: I found Field Manual pretty terrible. Be prepared.

I just watched the DCFC documentary (Drive Well, Sleep Carefully) last night, it made me take a closer look...

I think Narrow Stairs is absolutely fucking fantastic, personally. God damn yes I do.

In other news about shit LoserWire is wrong as all hell about: The new Cure single sounds like a parody of a Cure single.

If it were a cover, it would be listed as TBOTTHP&F.

Haven't heard it yet, I'll probably pick it up tomorrow although my local options are limited (overpriced local shop who has never really done anything to earn my patronage or one of the large national chains). I might just order it from Sonic Boom and be patient.

And, FWIW, I like the Walla solo album. Not among my top 10 ever but I've certainly heard far worse and I do rather enjoy listening to it on occasion (not on continuous loop like I can some records WHATMMG, anyone?).

LoserWire is old and ignorant, and I hope he never learns. I love him as he is.

Oh good, for a minute there I thought the honeymoon was over between you two.

Disembodied ringlets from hair that looks like Carrie Underwood's.

Would you say you prefer Modest Mouse over Death Cab???

His tastes also do not completely change every six months.

First listen!

I'm liking this way better than Plans so far. Early favorite: "Long Division"
