An Object Lesson Wrote:I must have my old unheard songs mixed up then. Upon checking the respective threads I did mean NRVS, and Sean even admits to cannibalizing some of the lyrics.
I couldn't figure out which ones.

The lyrics he quoted to us in that thread are all unfamiliar, but that seemed more like a single verse, or possibly chorus, than the entire song. I suspect the cannibalized lyrics were left out.

Since it's turned into Cards On the Table week on the Harvey Danger bulletin board, I'm still wondering: what's that strange, aborted, delightful bridge to "Private Helicopter" of old?

Scottique misheard some lyrics and then Wrote:Alternate bridge to Private Helicopter is something like this:

I (something) the man with frozen toes
Or a novelist enamored with his own prose
I act up--friends like you, you know the rest.

Adamant I might have been (something) into the sex offender (??? This is a really bad line for me to mishear)
I celebrate the (something something)
And I expect (something something something) boyfriend
I tell you what!
johnnyfootballhero Wrote:No takers on alternate lyrics?
sean Wrote:i know them.

...Before anybody asks: I knew you wanted to download it! It really is a great little live show, even before the aforementioned wacky lyrics, and I want you to hear it too. I've uploaded it here.

I've never actually listened to this before, even though it's been on my computer all along. The first thing I thought I heard was, "tack into the sex offender."

Like the fabled man with frozen toes
Or another statistic with face unfroze
I act up, friends like you, you know the rest
Every night I'm on a bender
Talking to the sex offender
I celebrate my own shit

There's an "n" sound in "statistic," but I don't think it's "tsunami."

What? You're on crack. The only clear line in the entire bridge is "Or a novelist enamored with his own prose."

Also: I am consistently delighted by "No one to keep up-p-p-p-earances for!"

We have very different ears.

We can talk about it later
But there's no later
Is there?

#1: Like a paper mill with frozen toes
Or a novelist enamored with his own prose
I act up, friends like you, you know the rest
Every night I'm on a bender
Talking to the sex offender
I celebrate my bullshit
With someone to take
With my Coke with utter poison
I told you once

With my coat with other boy bands
I told you once
