wifi password
So, this is pretty crazy... I am without internet for my computer, and have noticed a wifi connection by the name of cold snap. I ignored it for awhile, mainly because it has a password lock, but I tried to guess the password, lo and behold, its harvey danger! I couldn't belive it...

That's awesome. Back when I was broke and couldn't pay for high speed internet, I used to steal other neighbors' wireless connections that were not secure. Suckers.

When I was paying for internet, I would keep my connection passwordless... I'm a firm beiever that the internet should be free, or at least provided to everyone and payed for in the form of taxes, or something, but not everyone owns a computer, so the latter wouldn't be logical at this point in time...

try logging into the router with its IP address and then putting in a lynksis default password n if it works change it to an open network. i think most lynksis routers leave the login blank and password is admin by default unless somebody changes it. that sounds pretty illegal though

Yeah, but all the person with the router has to do is lean on the reset button and the password goes back to admin (as do all other settings). I know this because our ISP is pure shit, and we have to do this frequently to get the internet to work.

Well, even using an insecure wireless signal, without permission from the owner, is illegal. Many people have been sued, but its rarely worth the trouble to persue legal action. But if you're sure to not be sucking all the bandwidth up, they'll probabily never know...
