RE: Sean Nelson- Make Good Choices
Very excited, the first song released sounds lovely. Great melody! Is anyone wondering what is in the special edition USB that is apparently filled with Sean's favorite "rare and unrare" Harvey Danger songs?

"By the time Harvey Danger self-released the tremendous 2005 album Little By Little..., the group's incisive, catchy, thoughtful post-hit songs were known mostly to obsessives and cultists."

Hmm...NPR, I'm not sure whether I'd rather be known as an "obsessive" or "cultist".

In the video, a paper cut-out of Sean builds a snowman and they get snow cones. Later, they go ice fishing. If you think I'm making it up, you'll just have to click the link and find out.

P.S. I love the song.

Pray to the God that you don't quite believe in
To bless this fleeting moment
Yeah, YEAH, YEAH!

Is the shirt just the album art, or something else? I didn't see where it specified.

Holy mushroom cloud. I don't even have a turntable at present, but I'd pay $35 for just about anything from 1996.

That's probably pie in the sky, though.

We can talk about it later
But there's no later
Is there?

Yessssss, so looking forward to this. Fun note, this record is being released on the same label that a great local songwriter is on. Check out ROAR, I have a feeling lots do HD fans would be into what he's all about.

RE: Sean Nelson- Make Good Choices
I per-ordered the Vinyl + Thumb Drive + Shirt combo. Definitely. I'll also buy the CD to have a digital version if the vinyl doesn't come with a code.

I'm elated 'Advance & Retreat' is on this, as this was my absolute favorite from Sounds Major. Speaking of Sounds Major, I wonder if that side project is done? Weren't they supposed to have an album out sometime?

RE: Sean Nelson- Make Good Choices
had to reregister. couldn't remember my old log-in info.

i took a whack at the lyrics. lines i'm not sure about are in bold.

i promise, everything's alright
it's just i think of you sometimes
i like to stay up after midnight
and listen for the chimes we used to hear
so loud and clear
but i haven't heard that song in years

a wise old man was once heard to say
the things that always cause us the most pain,
all those for which we are always the least prepared to walk away
that's probably why i had you on the brain

when i learned i couldn't count on you
when i was my most deperate
when nothing that you said was true
and breaking down my esprit de corps
was your most beloved choir
still i couldn't close the iron door
i saved a little face
it was a fool's economy
it ended in disgrace
screaming get the hell away from me
i put you in your place
i knew you wouldn't stay there
but you had such vulgar taste
you even had the gall to ask for (coffin/coffee)

i thought of calling you up yesterday
and then i came rushing back to my good senses
it was all i could do just to obey
i started hearing voices warning me to make good choices

i saw your shadow play
and thought what kind of force is this
but what i said was dying breed
your smile was disarming
'cause nothing is more charming
than a narcissist with whom you've just agreed
make good choices
thank you very much indeed

i used to dream of you nightly
i will wake up strangling
i'll try to put it politely
when you're not hear my heart rejoices
don't come near me, make good choices
your face was perfectly straight
yes, i will (base it lame/basically)
most people hate their friends
i say it depends
i have so much, so much, i wanna tell you
and nowhere to begin

ive only had time to listen thru my shitty phone speaker, but for the 'the things that always cause us the most pain / all those for which we are always the least prepared to walk away' part, i thought it was '.. the most pain / are those for which..'

for the 'coffin/coffee' part, i hear 'car fare'.

and for 'i used to dream of you nightly / i will wake up strangling' i hear 'i would wake up screaming'

pretty sure that last bolded line is 'basically', but im not sure of the word or two before it. i also havent listened today and am just going from memory here.

.. regardless, im excited.
