I wish I had a way of making this recording of "Gotta Get Up" my alarm clock ring. I love the song and I adore this recording.

The beauty of "Born Without a Heart" didn't strike me until I heard this live recording. What a lovely one.

Truth: While I was listening to the "garlic pork" story, my puppy jumped in my lap and burped in my face. Each made the other more gruesome.

I'm still grinning at the guitar solo in "Make Good Choices."

For those looking for a transcript of the bit with the heckler:
Sean: This next one--
Asshole: PLAY YOUR HIT!
Sean: What?
Asshole: Play your hit!
Sean: That song [Make Good Choices] was kind of a hit. In this room, I dunno, I didn't bring the applause meter, but it felt pretty good, it might've been the winner of the night, so far--
Asshole: Play the Flagpole Song!
Crowd: Oooooh.
Sean: *sigh* You're the first one on this tour. Congratulations. See me in the alley out behind after the show. There are some very special things out there waiting for you--
Asshole: You gonna kick my ass?
Sean: I've never kicked anybody's ass. Except musically. GOD.

I must hand it to the audience: the "oh no he didn't" murmur-groan response to "Play the Flagpole Song!" sounded as though the guy'd just shouted "Your mother's a whore!" instead. Good crowd gets a cookie. I get the impression that had he shouted "Play Paranoia-paranoia!" instead, he'd have been brutalized right then and there, by those standing 'round him. At least, that's what I like to believe.

It would make me giggle like a loon to have "They're Kicking Me Out of the Band I Started Up" embedded in the front page of music.msn.com.

I totally dig the new piano arrangement of "Wine, Women and Song." Can anybody with better audio equipment/ears catch the lead-in to the second verse? Something like, "I wish you'd known me when I was a ____, I was a funny Phili-song, women, and wine, you can't fool all the people all the time...."

For some songs... Innerturmoil (or anybody else who was there), did they have the mic/amp/etc levels goofylike? Or were the acoustics of the place odd? It sounds like something weird happened to the sound, unrelated to your recording.

Thanks again for posting this!

Born Without a Heart is amazing with piano. I personally preffer Make Good Choices with geetar but this is cool to.

They're Kicking Me Out of the Band I Started is really, really good fun. And I keep wanting to sing the title. All the time.

Hollywood Hopeful is really cool, I thought I had the original version but apparently I have some weird a capella live version? Unless the original has no instrumentation but it seems unlikely. Anyway, great cover!

i think the sound guy had a compressor on or something...the Venus 3 set is the same.
(and no, i didn't have any reductions set up on my MD and it isn't peaking either.)
The sound at spaceland is usually really good.
