PLEDGE DRIVE! Harvey Danger's message board theme song.
The auction!

The money raised by this auction will go to the Northwest Harvest, a charity to feed hungry people. Our attempt in this pledge drive is to pool money among the message board participants and get a theme song written about the message board as a whole instead of one excessively rich fan.

In the twenty minutes since volunteering to organize a group entry into the auction, I've received $90 in pledges. Send your pledge to me through private messages and I'll see if we can drum up enough interest to actually do this!

(This is the discussion that brought us here. You'll notice that Sean is in on this as well.)

If I didn't have problems paying with credit card, I'd be all over this. I'd be willing to send some cash through the mail, though I don't know how well that would work out.

I ain't afraid of no rolly-coaster.

well, im guessing one person would have to bid and essentially pay for the whole thing with a credit card and everyone else would send them their share of the money.

This would be an AMAZING song...hopefully I can scrounge up some money! Can I send my love and good wishes instead? Wink Money will do fine, I know.

We're up to $195. Keep it coming, guys! The high bid right now is $425, so we have a ways to go. Get your pledges in now, so we can catch up!

This auction has seven days left.

The way I'm planning on organizing the payment is this:
Y'all can write me a check, or send the money through paypal. Those seeem to be the best options. As mentioned earlier, I may need a cronie to do the actual bidding when it comes down to the wire (as when the auction ends, I'll actually be in Seattle!), but I think I could still be the one who actually sends/brings the payment to Strangercrombie.

Of course, it goes without saying that anyone who pledges and doesn't pay is an asshole. Thanks. Not that such a thing would ever happen.

We can do this! For the hungry people! Pledge now!

We need Robin Williams and performing puppy dogs.

Thaske, if you don't mind sending cash through the mail, I certainly don't mind receiving cash through the mail. I guess it could be risky, but it's your call. I trust you.

I am all over this idea.

Being the board secretary must be a hell of a lot better than a Dangerol collector. Lucky.

I love this idea. And can I also suggest that even if we don't get enough to be the collective high bidder, we all donate our potential contribution to a worthy cause anyway?

EC, I love that idea. I think it should be up to each individual, though. Some folks might not be too happy if we did that.

We've raised $265 so far. This is impressive, and thank you to everyone who has pledged, but this is not enough. There are six days left. Fortunately the auction's been holding steady at $425. We need more money! Contribute! I will get annoying!
